Ingredients

  • 8 frozen homestyle waffles
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese about 4 oz
  • 6 oz thin-sliced turkey
  • 6 oz thin-sliced ham
  • 4 slices American cheese about 2 ½ oz
  • 4 tablespoons seedless raspberry jam
  • 4 large eggs or 1 cup egg substitute
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter divided
  • Maple syrup optional for serving

Method

  1. Arrange 4 waffles on work surface; top evenly with Swiss cheese, turkey, ham, and American cheese. Spread 1 tablespoon jam each on remaining 4 waffles and assemble sandwiches.
  2. Whisk eggs and milk in shallow dish until blended. Preheat large, nonstick sauté pan on medium 2–3 minutes. Place 2 tablespoons butter in pan. Dip 2 sandwiches into egg mixture (letting excess drip off), then add to pan (wash hands) and cover; cook 1–2 minutes on each side until outside is golden, cheese has melted, and center is 165°F. Repeat with remaining 2 tablespoons butter and 2 sandwiches.
  3. Cut sandwiches into halves or quarters. Serve with warmed maple syrup on the side for dipping.
